I believe because of the difference in these accounts which add up to give personal testimony of an alive Christ working in spirit with the people of His new church.
Even though I exercise regularly, try to eat well, have never smoked and by choice don’t drink, my 66 year old body tells my spirit, this home is not for ever.
I believe that one day I will have a body that does not ache, show signs of age and become weary.
The primary purpose of the church of course is to Worship God. The summary of the law as stated by Jesus is to love God with all our hearts, soul and mind. If this is our daily focus, then we will naturally worship He whom we love. A group of like minded people who get together praise or worship that which connects them.
Mary, a young woman, betrothed to a carpenter is busy working in the house. She hums to herself and happily thinks of her husbànd to be, Joseph. She quietly, in her own way, offers silent but heartfelt thanks to God for blessing her with this strong man who will support her and be faithful to her.
believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
Today you will be challenged. Today I believe we have reached the core of the creed. The core of our belief, and in our times, perhaps the most controversial statement.
I believe in God….all knowing, ever present, all powerful
Belief is not static, it is a deliberate choice made each time I commune with Him. In the words of the gospel writer:. “Yes, Lord, I believe but help me when I do not believe”.(paraphrased)Mark 9:24
