Mother’s Day

With strict instructions not to get up before 5:30 two excited boys crept downstairs just after the appointed time to help make cinnamon rolls for Mother’s Day breakfast.

Flour, dough, improvised rolling pins, cinnamon, sugar, butter, sticky fingers and patience  finally  yielded the reward of sweet smelling, delicious cinnamon buns.

Sorry no picture – they didn’t last long!

The day unfolded as planned (except for the unseasonably cooler weather) church and the pleasure of listening to my son preach and home for lunch.  After lunch naps and quiet time to gear up for a short walk and shopping for supper (leaving Ashley at home for a much needed longer nap).

Late supper was lovely with us all sitting around the table and enjoying the meal and looking forward to strawberry shortcake for dessert.  Then story time and bed – all tuckered out after an active day.

A beautiful Mother’s Day for a beautiful Mother and family – Grandma content to be here and help and play her part; feeling blessed.
